Risk Management

Project Risk ManagementDealing with risk is an intrinsic part of everyday life.  We all automatically assess risk and make decisions that help us to survive and prosper.  However as situations become more complex our judgement can be found wanting and this is where a more formal risk management process is required.

In the construction industry risk is the main factor that determines the scope of the project or service to be delivered.  ie: what needs to be done, how does it need to done and what will it cost.  If risk is not identified carefully, early in the scheme development cycle, it is very unlikely that certainty of delivery and ultimate affordability will be achieved.

RedIRay has the experience, tools and techniques that enable us to identify, assess and quantify risks, and opportunities, whether they be business, programme or project based.  We have provided risk management services for numerous public and private sector clients, businesses and projects acrossthe UK infrastructure industry.  Our Directors and senior managers have managed risk and worked on risk analysis for many major projects, term contracts and road network management commissions.  Examples include: A13 DBFO, Blackwall Tunnel and TfL’s Major Project Portfolio; M25 Management and proposed Maintenance DBFO; MAC contracts on the UK motorway network; and, major term maintenance and improvement contracts for TfL and Local Authority clients across the UK.

Whether you are new to risk management as a concept, or have reasonable understanding of risk and associated processes, we can help you implement a comprehensive risk and opportunity management system.  This will include all required policies, procedures and tools, together with  staff training and ongoing system evolution.   We can also provide discrete project specific advice and support, including facilitating risk workshops, risk assessment and risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulations.

Our risk management specialist is John Rayner, a member of the Institute of Risk Management.  Please contact John to discuss your needs further.
